We will be changing our clinical system from EMIS to VISION during July. This change will be happening all across Scotland.
From Monday 20th to Wednesday 22nd July we will have read only access to the medical record system while the transfer of data to the new system takes place. Please see below important points to be aware of:
- We will be unable to issue regular medications – if you are due any prescriptions during this period then you MUST order them early, and the cut-off date will be Thursday 16th July, in order for us to process all of them before the system shuts down.
- Please note during this time from 6pm on Thursday 16th July until Monday 27th July online prescription requests and the prescription phone line will both be suspended. Please be aware the local pharmacies will be extremely busy due to the increase in demand for prescriptions leading up to and during this time – please allow 72 hours for prescription collection.
- We will be unable to do non-emergency bloods
- We will not receive any electronic secondary care communication (e.g. hospital/clinic letters)
- We will not receive any results (bloods, scans, swabs, urine)
- We will not be able to provide copies of medical records
- We will not be able to produce private medical reports
- We will be unable to register new patients
- We will be unable to book future appointments
Requests and queries may take longer than usual to process and we may have to operate slightly differently, with a reduced service of on the day appointments only.
This is an enormous undertaking and we therefore kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this time as we navigate and familiarise ourselves with this significant change of clinical records system. Please note that it may take several weeks before we are fully settled and services return to normal.
